[66] νηῦςἀνδρῶν is contrasted with ποτητά. The aor. φύγεν is parallel to παρέρχεται (62), and refers to a general, not a special fact; which is further corroborated by the mood of ἵκηται (cp. 10. 327, 328; 11. 40, 41), and the tense of φορέουσι.
