[477] τῆ. See on Od. 5.346. Here again the clauses are interlaced, for καί μιν προσπτύξομαι connects itself with “ὄφρα φάγῃσι, ὄφρα” governing “προσπτύξομαι” as well. Odysseus, in saying, ‘that I may do homage to him, though sad at heart,’ alludes chiefly to the tears which had been drawn from him by the first lay of Demodocus (84), and perhaps also partly to the anxiety which his deferred departure was causing him, for Alcinous had promised that he should go that very day (7. 317).
