[405] ἀκταί are probably ‘headlands;’ high bluff cliffs, as in Antig. 592ἀντιπλῆγες ἀκταί” , while σπιλάδες according to the Scholl. are “αἱ διεσχισμέναι καὶ κεκοιλωμέναι πέτραι”, jagged points of broken rock.

πάγοι (“πήγνυμι”) should be something more massive, perhaps ‘reefs;’ but not necessarily a level range of rock, as we have “πάγοι ὀξέες” inf. 411.
