[337] ἐίσας. If with Ahrens we refer “ἐίση” to root “εἰκ”, we can render here ‘good,’ ‘seemly,’ or the like. If we regard “ἐίση” as equivalent to “ἐϝίση”, from “ἶσος”, we must render ‘fair,’ i. e. wellbalanced, like the “νῆες ἐῖσαι”, with ‘equal curves,’ or ‘on even keel.’ It can hardly be, as Schol., “τὰς ἀναλογούσας τῷ σώματι”.
