[407] γάρ introduces the reason: ‘inasmuch as I have come to you here as one that has been angered with many,’ as a man of many quarrels. Some take “ὀδυσσάμενος” to be =‘having been the object of anger’; but there is no support for this sense of “ὀδύσασθαι”.
