[303] “μή τί τοι . . μελέτω . . ἄλλο”. With the form of the sentence compare Od.5. 179μή τί μοι αὐτῷ πῆμα κακὸν βουλευσέμεν ἄλλο”, only that here we have “ἔργον τε ἔπος τε” added in apposition to “κακόν”. The force of ἄλλο here is almost=‘instead,’ in antithesis, that is, to the following words, which speak of eating and drinking.
