[573] ῥεῖα παρεξελθοῦσα, ‘having easily slipped past us.’ The apodosis begins at τόφρα δέ, and οἰχομένη means ‘having withdrawn from us;’ the method of her withdrawal is given in the words “ῥεῖα π”. Then she tethers the ram and the ewe by the side of the ship, to be ready for the sacrifice.
