ἠγαθέην. According to Buttm. from “ἄγαν, θεῖος”, formed like “ἀγακλυτός”. For change of “α” to “η” compare “ἠμαθόεις, ἠνεμόεις”. Others regard the word as a derivative from “ἄγαμαι” or a lengthened form of “ἀγαθός”, as “ἠνορέη” from “ἀνήρ”.
